Sagardi Group has been awarded by the United Kingdom embassy in Madrid, in the Spanish Investment, in the UK category for the investment and commitment that the Spanish restoration group has made in the English country.

The UK-Spain Business Awards, organized by the Department for International Trade (DIT), the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain and Banco Santander, celebrated their first edition yesterday at the Palacio de La Bolsa in Madrid, and are a recognition of those British and Spanish companies that have contributed to consolidate trade between the United Kingdom and Spain.

With more than 25 years of experience, Sagardi group is not only a brand fully implanted in the national gastronomic scene, but also has a project in full international expansion, with 15 brands and more than 30 establishments, much in Spain, but also in Porto, Mexico, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam and, of course, in London. The gastronomic markets of London and the United Kingdom occupy a prominent place in the Group’s international strategy. With each new establishment, the company has managed to transmit to the world the richness of the Basque culture and its cuisine, as well as its commitment to tradition and the quality of the proximity product.

“We greatly appreciate recognition of this category after all the time and effort invested in the Sagardi Group project. An award like this gives us strength to continue growing and share our quality products worldwide. This is only the beginning of a long journey. After 25 years and more than 30 restaurants, we can affirm that we are ambassadors of Basque cuisine in different parts of the world and we plan to continue doing so for many more years” explained Octavio Lopez de Viñaspre, financial director and founder of Grupo Sagardi, who collected the prize.

The event was attended by the United Kingdom High Representative for Trade in Europe, Andrew Mitchell, as master of ceremonies of these new awards, which are born with the vocation to reward companies that work to strengthen trade relations between the two countries. The gala was also attended by the British ambassador to Spain, Hugh Elliott, and the Secretary of State for Commerce of the Ministry of Industry Trade and Tourism, Xiana Méndez.

Last 2019, the Group was awarded the National Hospitality Award for Internationalization, and the Hot Concepts 2019 awards for its extensive experience.
